What’s in My Bag??? Summer Edition

The other week, my best friend and I took a trip to the beach and the light of the setting sun through a log fort shone perfectly on my bag. This got me thinking that I have never done a what’s in my bag post. I love reading other people’s posts like this, so I wanted to try my hand at it. Plus, making collages on Polyvore is always fun.

Let me know in the comments below what your must-haves are in your summer bag 😊😊

Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara

img_0312Good afternoon 🙂 🙂

I seem to be on a weekly mascara testing streak, but I have started organizing and spring cleaning my makeup stores early this year, and found all manner of nifty products I tried and loved and forgot about, or never even tried at all (I know, for shame).  This mascara was included in Estée Lauder’s 2015 holiday gift set, and claims to deliver the trifecta of lift, curl AND volume, so I wanted to give it a whirl and see if it lived up to this mighty reputation.

Features:

  1. Oversized BrushComber Extreme™ brush
  2. Extreme Bold Volume™ formula
  3. Lightweight formula
  4. Clump-free
  5. Lash-Advancing Vitamin Complex to condition lashes
  6. False-lash effect

img_0314-1Like last week’s mascara, this one has an absolutely massive brush and, dare I say, it is almost too big. The solid and flexible bristles are designed to coat on as much formula as possible, and to comb and separate lashes to build up volume and definition. This brush definitely lifted my eyelashes and gave them volume, but there was no dramatic curl effect. However, when I curled my eyelashes and then applied this mascara, it held in the curl all day, which was perfect. I just wish the brush was a tiny bit smaller so I could better sculpt my lower lashes.

The mascara goes on really smoothly and evenly, and doesn’t weigh down my eyelashes, which is a huge plus. It doesn’t clump on lashes during application, and wears well throughout the day with no little black crumbles. When wearing this around university, I received so many lovely compliments on how long my eyelashes were and how bright-eyed I looked, and they made my day. When I take it off at night, my lashes don’t feel dried out or like the mascara is still glued on, which I attribute to the Lash-Advancing Vitamin Complex. I tried taking if off at night with just soap and water, and it works but it takes awhile, so for a quick removal, I use Clinique’s Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes, and Lips.

This mascara retails for CAN $30, which is pricy, so I am glad it came in a gift set, but I would recommend this mascara to anyone with thin, sparse lashes who is looking for a mascara to lift their eyelashes, literally. It is definitely one of the best highstreet mascaras I have tried.

What is your go-to mascara???

Blogmas Day 19: Christmas Sweaters

blogmasbannerGood afternoon all, and happy 19th day of Blogmas!!!

For me, one of the many steps of getting into the Christmas spirit is finding the perfect obnoxious Christmas sweater. I’m talking giant snowflakes, lights, and maybe even a button that, when pushed, plays Christmas music. So today I thought I would round up some of the cutest Christmas sweaters I have stumbled upon on the Internet thus far. I found all these on Polyvore from various retailers, but most are around the $40 price range. Hope you enjoy them!!!

Lunch at Tiffany’s

IMG_5137Holly Golightly had breakfast at Tiffany’s; I had lunch. While wandering through Galeries Lafayette the other day, and munching on un pain au chocolat, I stumbled upon a Tiffany and Co. store. I have always wanted one of these little robin egg blue Tiffany bags, but was convinced that nothing in Tiffany’s would be anywhere near my price range. Not so. There really is a wide variety of selection; it’s not all platinum and rare gems. But, of course, there are still the astoundingly priced items that are fun to look at, like the €250000 engagement ring, Some people buy a ring; others buy a house. Ha, talk about perspective.

Out of all the platinum and shades of gold, I spotted this little Sterling silver infinity ring (on the left), and instantly fell in love with it. I had been eyeing some of the pieces in the infinity collection online, as an advertisement for them had popped up in an internet browser a few weeks back (fate?), but I never thought any of them would be “affordable.” I say that in quotation marks because €190 is still a lot of money, but it makes for a lovely addition to my jewelry case, and a timeless souvenir of my trip to Paris. And it comes in such an adorable little box!!! IMG_5138 What is your favourite souvenir from a trip you have taken???

H&M Purchases of Late

IMG_5066Just a few things I picked up in H&M recently. They had a huge sale going on, so almost everything I got had a beautiful little red sticker on it. The only downside to these sale items is that they are final sale but, hey, that’s what fitting rooms are for, right???

I adore little crop tops like this, and how could I pass them up for $5 for the pink florals, and $3 for the blue??? Such amazing deals. They are super soft, and will be really nice throughout the summer and even into the fall.

I love plaid shirts, like LOVE them, but it is so hard to find ones that aren’t super fitted and in weird or bright colours. These two are incredibly soft and comfy, and will be perfect for autumn, and for $10 each, I wasn’t leaving them behind.

Who can resist cute, simple dresses??? At $7 each, I picked up both. The pink is a fun and flirty little number that will be all through my summer pictures this year. And the black is just perfectly simple so I can wear it anywhere. #lbd

This shirt was the only full-priced item I picked up, but I adored the floral print and the loose fit. I really want to wear it with leggings in the autumn, or jeans in the winter. And two pairs of tights for $7: yes please!!!

Have you found any really good buys at H&M recently??? Let me know!!!

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a lovely day 🙂 🙂
