Shop My Closet on PoshMark!

**Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored, and all opinions shared are my own**

Hello friends!!!

Back in July, I was cleaning out my closet, and came across some items that were still in very good condition, some that were like-new, and some that were brand new with the original tags still attached. Not wanting to just get rid of them, I registered for PoshMark.

PoshMark is an online platform that allows people to buy and sell clothing, purses, shoes,  accessories, and homewares from thousands of brands at up to 70% off the original price. Since creating my account, I have sold several items, predominantly handbags and makeup. I have also begun listing items from my mother’s closet, as she is in a similar situation, where she has too many items in her closet, but they are in like-new or brand new condition, and are seeking new homes.

With PoshMark, sales are as easy as 1-2-3. Step 1 is to list items, providing accurate pictures, and giving informative descriptions, including dimensions, item condition, and disclosures of any marks/imperfections. Step 2, once an item has sold, is to package up the item, affix the provided shipping label to the box, drop it off at any post office, and mark the item as shipped on the website or in the app. Step 3, once an item has arrived at its destination and the buyer is happy, is to collect the earnings, and either spend them in the app on purchases, or withdraw them as cash.

What I love most about this platform is that shipping is so simple. Once an item is sold, a shipping labelled is emailed to me, and all I have to do is print it out, attach it to the package I am sending, and have it scanned at the post office, no receipt or tracking number needed. From the app, I can track the progress of the shipment, and see when the package arrives at the buyer.

A main concern I had initially was sales fees. In the past, I have found sales fees at consignment stores to be exorbitant, some as high as 60%, with the seller keeping 40% of the sale. With PoshMark, all sales under $15 are subject to a flat commission of $2.95, with the seller pocketing the remainder of the sale money. Sales over $15 are subject to a 20% commission, and the seller pockets 80%. For larger sales, this can sometimes feel gouging, but I have to remind myself that other sales platforms charge a higher commission. In addition, selling items on platforms like ebay often necessitates lowering prices below what one might want to sell an item for, or offering the opportunity for people to bid on items, with encouragement to set initial bidding values low.

Another amazing feature of PoshMark is the customer service team that is available to both buyers and sellers to respond to any questions or concerns regarding sales, earnings, PoshMark users, or the platform itself. The FAQ page is also an excellent first point of contact for any questions you may have.

I also love the diversity of items sold on PoshMark. You can find anything from an H&M crop top to a Louis Vuitton handbag. Items can be filtered according to category, brand, size, colour, price, condition, and availability, making it a great place to find gifts for family and friends in brand new condition at a fraction of the original cost quickly and easily. This has been particularly helpful for me as a student during Christmas shopping. I have also been using my earnings from sales to do some Christmas shopping, which lessens the financial impact of the holidays #studentlife.

I have several items listed on PoshMark at the moment, including clothing, handbags, accessories, and makeup. If you would like to shop my closet, you can view all my available listings here. I also have an invite code, which you can use to get $15 to put towards any purchase made on the website or in the app. Full disclosure, if you use my invite code, I will also receive $15 when you receive your first purchase. Of course, you don’t need to use my invite code to create an account; you can create an account anytime through the PoshMark website or app. If you would like to support me and use my invite code, it is LITANDLOVELY.

Please let me know in the comments below if you have ever used PoshMark before and how you liked it or, if you have’t used it, if you would consider it. I would love to hear what people think!!!
